Ileana Ros-Lehtinen: Bush Rubberstamp and Sarah Palin Truth Squadder

Ros-Lehtinen has been one of the President's strongest supporters for the war in Iraq, against expanding children's health care, and against lowering prescription drug and oil prices.

There are now only fifty days remaining until the November 4 Elections. Here in South Florida, I'm running for Congress in FL-18 against Bush Rubberstamp Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. Last week, Ros-Lehtinen offered more of the same blind support for her party's leadership as she shown over the past seven and a half years.

When Senator McCain selected Governor Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate, Ros-Lehtinen jumped to Palin's side: "I thought 'wow, what a great ticket," Ros-Lehtinen said. "I think the governor of Alaska is an independent thinker just like John McCain has been."

We already know Ros-Lehtinen is a Bush rubberstamp who votes with President Bush more than 85% of the time. Ros-Lehtinen has been one of the President's strongest supporters for the war in Iraq, against expanding children's health care, and against lowering prescription drug and oil prices.

Now, Ros-Lehtinen has approved a new team of Washington Republicans who have no record of caring about the issues we know matter in our country today.

In fact, Ros-Lehtinen is a charter member of the Palin Truth Squad, a group that will "report directly to [McCain's] chief strategist Steve Schmidt." In this role, she will seek to justify the Palin choice to voters across the country, including here in South Florida.

But just like we haven't let Ros-Lehtinen run from her record of support for Bush, we won't let her spin Palin to South Florida voters either.

Our campaign was endorsed by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's (DCCC's) Red to Blue program of highly competitive races. The DCCC recognizes that South Florida needs a new beginning to undo the damage of the past seven years, and that our campaign to bring real change is stronger than ever. FL-18, the region's most Democratic and progressive District, is ready to go blue and TV time is quickly approaching.

Please support our media campaign to unseat Bush Rubberstamp Ileana Ros-Lehtinen with a contribution of $25, $10 or $5.

America needs a new beginning. We need to get our economy back on track, offer access to high-quality, affordable health care to all Americans, end the war in Iraq, and invest in renewable energy to break our dependence on foreign oil.

Ros-Lehtinen, Palin, and McCain will be four more years of the same, and after the last seven and a half years, that's time we don't have.

Thank you,

Annette Taddeo
