In Memoriam: Goodbye To All The Comedy We Lost In 2013

In Memoriam

As 2013 winds to a close, we thought it was important to take a look back at the comedy we lost over the year. From the end of long-running series to the late night shows that didn't really get a shot to the one celebrity breakup that actually gave us hope, 2013 leaves us with much to reflect upon.

If you're so inclined, feel free to hit play on the video below and turn up your speakers before scrolling through.

'The Onion' Print Edition
The Onion
2012 saw 'The Onion' gutted of some its long-time talent after it moved all editorial operations to Chicago, and 2013 saw its final print edition ever. Of course, the satirical news outlet is still alive and well, but we'll miss actually turning the pages of 'America's Finest News Source.'
Totally Biased With W. Kamau Bell
It would have been nice to see how this show would have developed given another year to really hone its voice and audience. Alas, it was not to be.
Anthony Weiner Jokes
2013 was the year when Anthony Weiner's technologically-inept philandering officially ceased to be funny. But we all enjoyed it while it lasted, didn't we?
30 Rock

2013 began with the end of one of our favorite long-running series, leaving us all asking, 'What's next?'

To answer at least part of that...
Up Late With Alec Baldwin
MSNBC
Oh, 'Up Late With Alec Baldwin', we hardly knew you. But we couldn't really say we were surprised either.
Weekend Update With Seth Meyers
AP
In 2013, we learned that Seth Meyers would be leaving SNL to take over hosting 'Late Night' when Jimmy Fallon moves on to 'The Tonight Show.' (He still has an episode or two left in 2014 alongside co-anchor Cecily Strong.) We're excited for his new gig, but we'll miss that smile at the Update desk.

Speaking of which...
Stefon
AP
With Bill Hader's departure from "SNL" we were forced to say goodbye to Stefon. As Weekend Update's city correspondent, he had EVERYTHING.
John Oliver On The Daily Show
AP
Senior British Correspondent no more, Oliver has left TDS to host his own weekly show on HBO. His recent surprise send-off from Jon Stewart was sweet and extremely emotional.
Courtney Stodden & Doug Hutchison's Marriage

If they couldn't make it work... good. Let's just forget this ever happened, okay?
The Jeselnik Offensive

Anthony Jeselnik's darkly funny late night show didn't connect with Comedy Central's audience. Guess they prefer 'Tosh Offensive'. Oh, well.
Guys With Kids
AP
The Jimmy Fallon-produced "Guys With Kids" may not have wowed critics or audiences, but you had to give it credit for its old-school television theme song.
Whitney

That relentless ad campaign from 2011 must have finally worn off, because 'Whitney' was cancelled earlier this year.
Eastbound And Down

Danny McBride hasn't retired from being awesome, but his show has after four seasons.
The Cleveland Show
Fox
After four seasons, the "Family Guy" spin-off was cancelled this past May.
Nikki & Sarah Live
AP
They came, they saw, they met JT, they were cancelled. Sigh.
Deon Cole's Black Box
TBS
We only got 6 episodes of Deon Cole hosting his own show... not NEARLY enough.
Futurama
AP
Futurama ended its run for reals this time... or did it? Who really knows?
The Office
Wikipedia Commons
After nine seasons, the American version of 'The Office' finally closed its doors.
Believing Anything On The Internet Is Real
Jimmy Kimmel deceived the world with his twerk fail prank featuring a stunt woman. While we applaud his efforts to end twerking forever, we lament the passing of that innocent time when we believed the videos we saw on YouTube were real.
Mrs. Krabappel
Fox
This one really, actually hurts.
