It’s going to be everywhere you look this week. In social media, newspapers, and TV, the energy building around the inauguration. Instead of being drawn into the frenetic energy I want to remind you, you have a choice to make. Don’t let the media, or your friends make it for you.

You have a choice to make.

Stop

Pause

Breathe

It’s all energy.

What energy do you want to choose?

Let’s back up for a second and get a little perspective on what an inauguration is. It’s a ceremony to mark the beginning, the admission of someone to office. It truly can be that simple. It does not have to be a week-long music and protest-fest.

Just like the inaugurations gone by some of you will be overjoyed to watch your elected candidate take office. Others of you will be whipped into sadness and or fear that your candidate is not being inaugurated.

It’s all energy. Will you choose to freak out?

Stop

Pause

Breathe

Trust

Melissa Chaffin captured the essence eloquently. “Can we accept the unpleasant and the uncomfortable with what it is, the reality?” The reality is we elected a reality TV star, an entrepreneur to serve in the office of President of the United States. Now is the time we must trust that choice.

For some, that is pleasant and comfortable ― for others, unpleasant and uncomfortable. As Eckhart Tolle says, “It is as it is.”

This week do the following:

Stop,

Breathe,

Pause

Ask yourself what you are feeling about the inauguration. Don’t simply fall into any social media pandering attempting to tell you what to feel. If possible try to simplify that to one word. Then ask yourself good or bad, is that the feeling you want to be experiencing.

It’s time as a human family to reach acceptance of this our New President. Acceptance without judgment.

Try this - non-judgment. Don’t be for or against anyone this inauguration be for the acceptance and trust that the Universe is working for our collective highest and best at all times.

And as always, ask yourself, how can I choose love?

Yes, this week I will watch a little less TV, I will most likely un-friend a few Facebook friends and.. my life will go on. Just like our democracy will go on. In this I Trust. I will choose to stay as centered as possible in my awareness that Spirit does not make mistakes. That the old paradigms must fall like the fall leaves and new leaves always form in their place.

As a bicentennial baby, I have always had a special awareness around government and a love of Washington DC. It’s exciting to be living in this place at this transformative time. Raise your energy to that. Let’s all be curious in the discovery of what is next. It is done unto us as we believe and I choose to believe my life is good and getting better. My business is good and getting better and that choice will be the same no matter who is in office.

May God Continue to Bless America!
