India Hit By Sudden Cold (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Cold Wave Hits India

While India is known for its blistering summer heat, a cold wave has swept through the north of the country in the past week. A thick fog cloud enveloped India's capital Delhi, with temperatures dropping to 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

The sudden cold spike has killed scores in the past days. According to BBC News, nearly 100 people have died because of the extreme weather.

Most parts of India are ill-prepared for freezing temperatures. Last year, dozens of people died in a similar wave of cold weather.
