12.9.15 #SongBlogIV (my song of the day): "White Iverson (Remix)" by Post Malone ft. French Montana and Slim Jimmy

In a year where there were rap feuds (Meek Mill and Drake) and controversy, a few rappers were able to get a breakout hit. Post Malone was no different. Called "the most random success" by the Fader magazine, Post Malone's first single is a great one. This remix featuring French Montana and Slim Jimmy (Rae Sremmurd) is even better.

One thing that is important to note however, is that Post Malone is this breakout rapper from Dallas this year (and in a while, quite honestly). But there are a couple more Dallas rappers you should check out.

Here are 4 Dallas rappers you may have not heard of and/or you should revisit:

1. The D.O.C: It's Funky

He's worked with heavyweights - Dr. Dre, N.W.A. You might have also seen him portrayed on this year's Straight Outta Compton. In November 1989 he was in a severe car crash where his rap career was almost put to an end.

2. Dorrough: Walk The Walk

These are just a couple of the artists he's worked with: P. Diddy, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, 2 Chainz, Wale, Lil Boosie, Waka Flocka, Soulja Boy, Jermaine Dupri, Yo Gotti, Juicy J, Jim Jones, French Montana, E-40, Nipsey Hussle, Kevin Gates, YG, Kid Ink, Bun B, Juvenile, Twista, Too Short, Riff Raff, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Rocko, Ace Hood, Young Dolph, Problem, Travis Porter, Kirko Bangz, Trae The Truth, Maino, Lil Flip, Shawty Lo, etc. Some producers include Dj Mustard, Mike Will Made It, Zaytoven, Play N Skillz, League of Starz, Cardo, Johnny Juliano, Dj Montay and Dj Spinz. 3. Mr. Lucci: Rockin With Me

The 2011 "Rockin with me" video features Dallas as its backdrop with versus by Stubb-A-Lean & Classik. He joined Iconic Records at the age of 15 as the youngest rapper. His last album "Certified 1st" was released in 2012. | Twitter: @MrLucciDallas

4. Big Tuck: Southside Da Realist

He is STILL making great music and even took part in this Dallas CLASSIC:
