Iowa Election Results 2012 MAP: Presidential Winner For The Hawkeye State (REAL-TIME DATA)

LOOK: Iowa Election Results MAP

This is where you can find the results of the 2012 presidential election for the state of Iowa.

President Barack Obama carried the state handily in 2008, besting GOP candidate John McCain by over 9 percentage points. But this time around his lead doesn't seem like it will be quite as large.

While the president maintained a polling lead in the state throughout the race leading up to Nov. 6, according to HuffPost Pollster's estimate, his margin just days before Election Day was only a little over 3.5 points. However, if undecided voters swing toward the president, the state could resemble its 2008 pattern.

Iowa, which carries just six electoral college seats, has voted Republican in a presidential election only once in the past six contests. That year was 2004, when the state opted to pledge its seats to incumbent George W. Bush.
