Muhammad Ali pictured himself as a winner before he was one. Jim Carrey envisioned himself as a Hollywood star before he became one. Arnold Schwarzenegger imagined himself as Mr. Universe before he trained and became one. Oprah Winfrey visualized a better life for herself and created one. John Assaraf envisioned his million dollar home before he could even afford it, and lives in the exact one he envisioned years ahead of time.

What can we learn from these stories? The vision came first, the results came after.

A vision is a picture or an idea of a future venture that one may have in mind for themselves. Picturing yourself victorious, famous, healthy, wealthy, successful is not only for leaders, A-listers and Hollywood stars it’s for everyone. The key is to make your vision the stronger focus point than any reasons, doubts and fears that are gonna try to take you down and make you crawl.

Science demonstrates that the brain cannot tell the difference between a visualized image and reality. Which translates to this, if you make your new vision inside your brain more real than the current results in your outside world, you will grow into the image you’ve created and start seeing and living your dream in reality.

Being a portrait photographer I’ve experienced the power of visualization. I created {visually} an image of myself when I was feeling down and under.

When I looked at my own photograph, I couldn’t believe it was me!! The person I came face to face with in the picture was a very strong powerful capable brave successful beautiful woman. My “new vision” of self was exactly who I aspired to become. Those images had an emotional appeal that acted as a force within me and drove me to action towards my destination; becoming her.

Over time, I began to see more parts of my vision coming true until one day I became her.

Now, I apply the same process that successfully worked for me on my clients, capturing their future selfs through photographs whereby they can see ,taste, feel, smell and hear themselves as having already achieved their goals.

Surely you’ve heard of the proverb 29:18, where there is no vision, the people shall perish.

Without a clear and precise vision of exactly what it is you want, you’ll be drifting aimlessly.

Still Skeptic? Here’s 6 reasons that might convince you to take your shot at it.

No.1 Helps you see beyond your current reality

Your physical eyes can contradict how you see yourself, the photographs will create an emotional connection to your new self image, whereby you are able to see yourself clearly as who you aspire to become, and make that journey.

No.2 Creates possibilities on who you aspire to become.

Be specific. How do you picture your life? What do you want your legacy to be? What do you want to accomplish? What would you love to be?

Anything is possible within a vision, so visualize BIG!

No.3 Gives you something to hold on when the going gets tough.

Since the vision has not come into existence yet, it will demand persistence.

The photographs will serve you as a constant reminder of what and why you are doing the things that you are doing when times are tough.

No.4 Acts as a focal point.

The images act as the most powerful way to keep you focused on what you want while keeping you motivated in achieving it.

With your constant focus the photographs become like a magnet that attracts and connects you to the pieces that will bring it together in reality.

No.5 Inspires you.

When you can envision a future that is better, happier and richer, you are more likely to make the changes that are necessary to reach that type of life.

No.6 Measures your progress towards your greatest potentials

You will be able to scale your progress in the present by referring to the image in the future.

Once you will reach your destination, you and your image become a match

So, with all that being said, you gained a better understanding of the importance of having a vision and how it can help you to pursue dreams, achieve your goals to produce a more successful and prosperous outcome. I highly recommend that you focus on your “vision photographs” daily, and see yourself as having already achieved it until you bring it to life. Aren’t you worth a shot?

See you at the top.
