It's Official! Obama Loves Issa Rae's 'Insecure' As Much As We All Do

It’s hard not to love Issa Rae’s Golden Globe-nominated HBO series “Insecure” — even if you’re President Barack Obama.

Rae found a new fan in POTUS when she and co-star Yvonne Orji attended the White House Christmas Party on Friday. As Obama went down the line greeting guests, Orji wrote on Instagram he stopped to hold Rae and Orji’s hands and tell them how much he “loves what women are doing in the creative space.” He spoke to them “at length,” Rae tweeted, about how much he loved the show and the soundtrack. Of course, the duo freaked out in the best way possible.

“President Obama watches ‘Insecure’, he said he can’t quote none of it until after he’s president,” Rae said in a video posted by writer Luvvie, who was also in attendance. “He said our soundtrack is lit. He said we’re doing great work.”

Orjie followed up and said, “Everything we would’ve loved for him to say, he said it.”

Orji also posted a video of Obama talking to them followed by their joyous shrieks.
