It's That Time Again...

The Fringe is upon us here in NYC. From drag queens to pregnant teens, we've got it all. And if you're like me, you're totally overwhelmed and every year you see the wrong thing, so won't someone just tell you what to see? Yes. Yes, I will, dear reader.

I want you to see The Morning After/The Night Before.

A great show for skeptics and die-hard musical theater fans alike, TMA/TNB blends an Apatow-esque plot with the musical stylings of a contemporary Frank Loesser. TMA/TNB chronicles the party and hungover morning of Todd Goldenthal, the dashing male protagonist played by Jed Resnick (currently in Avenue Q, but don't worry, homeboy can hang without a puppet). The cast is rounded out by engaging performers Whit Baldwin, Max Spitulnik, Shira Gregory (she was in FROST/NIXON on the Great White Way), Michelle K. Moore and others. Written by the 21st Century Frank Loesser in question, Jeff Bienstock, and deftly directed by the stunning Diana Glazer, set aside 90 minutes sometime between now and when it closes on August 28th for The Morning After/The Night Before at the Lucille Lortel Theater, premiering at the NY International Fringe Festival.
