After months of speculation and excitement on behalf of former supporters and donors, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced that she is officially running for President!

The announcement came in the form of a two minute video on her website, hillaryclinton.com. In the announcement video, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton informs her supporters that, "I'm getting ready to do something too; I'm running for President." She continues by saying, "Everyday Americans need a champion. I want to be that champion." She ends the video with possibly a key slogan for her campaign, "It's Your Time." After a loss in 2008 to President Barack Obama, it truly appears to be the right time for supporters to continue on the journey towards electing the first female President of the United States.

The former New York Senator is joining the candidate pool, which already includes Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul. Other potential presidential candidates include Democrats, such as former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley and former Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee. Key Republican candidates that are potentially running for the presidency in 2016 include former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and former Texas Governor Rick Perry.

The former Secretary of State will likely be the only female candidates in the 2016 Presidential elections, picking up where she left off 7 years ago. This will be the Clinton's second attempt to break the proverbial glass ceiling that has stopped women from entering into the highest and most powerful political office in the United States.
