For a wild movie-watching experience, look no further than these 12 directors. Each is part of iTunes' list of "rebel and renegade" filmmakers. The roundup is brimming with A-list names, including eight Oscar nominees.

Noticeably missing from the list are any female directors. Sofia Coppola, Catherine Hardwicke, Kathryn Bigelow, Jane Campion and Nancy Meyers are just a few names who could have easily earned a spot on iTunes' collection. Instead, standard (yet deserving) staples like Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan and Gus Van Sant populate the list.

Take a look at iTunes' assortment and watch the trailers for the most "renegade" movies associated with these directors.

1. Quentin Tarantino ("Inglourious Basterds")

2. Nicolas Winding Refn ("Drive")

3. Darren Aronofsky ("Black Swan")

4. Michel Gondry ("Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind")

5. Christopher Nolan ("Memento")

6. David O. Russell ("Flirting with Disaster")

7. Gus Van Sant ("Drugstore Cowboy")

8. David Lynch ("Blue Velvet")

9. Spike Jonze ("Being John Malkovich")

10. Alex Cox ("Repo Man")

11. Gregg Araki ("Mysterious Skin")

12. David Cronenberg ("Videodrome")
