Jacob Tobia Plans Brooklyn Bridge Run In High Heels For Ali Forney Center

WATCH: Student Warms Up In High Heels For Brooklyn Bridge Run

Jacob Tobia is set to run across the Brooklyn Bridge for a good cause -- in high heels, no less.

The Duke University student will don stilettos Dec. 15 on behalf of New York's Ali Forney Center, the city's leading shelter for homeless LGBT youth which was devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Check out the video and interview footage of Tobia, who is also a HuffPost Gay Voices blogger.

"As a kid, I was lucky," Tobia says in the clip. "I had an affirming family and a place to call home, but so many of my LGBT brothers and sisters are not as fortunate, and they end up on the streets because their families and communities abandon them."

He goes on to note, "Together we can make a holiday miracle."

Check out his donor page here.
