Jadeveon Clowney's 40-Yard Dash Times At The NFL Combine Made People Say 'Wow' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Clowney's 40-Yard Dash Times Are

"Wow" seemed to be the overwhelming and appropriate reaction to what Jadeveon Clowney did on Monday morning.

The 266-pound defensive end posted unofficial times of 4.47 and 4.48 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. While those times were unofficial and likely to increase, the former South Carolina standout certainly showed NFL scouts why he believes he should be the No. 1 overall selection in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Clowney's first unofficial 40-yard time of 4.47 seconds would be the fastest run by a player that weighs more than 260 pounds since 2006, according to ESPN Stats & Info. It also showed him to be faster over that distance than the majority of running backs and wide receivers who had run a day earlier at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. If Clowney's times hold up -- or just don't increase too much -- then he'll have shown himself to be faster than both former Auburn running back Tre Mason (4.50), a Heisman Trophy finalist, as well as former Florida State wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin (4.61), considered one of the top draft prospects at his position.

To put Clowney's run in perspective, NFL Network created a simulcam video to have him virtually race other notably fleet-footed players, including Johnny Manziel and Colin Kaepenerick. Based on these results, not many offensive skill position players will have much luck outrunning Clowney on Sundays.
