A day after announcing that he and wife Lacey were calling it quits, country star Jake Owen got candid about their divorce during a concert on Saturday.

Owen, 32, was performing a cover of Garth Brooks' "The Dance" when he paused mid-song to address the crowd at the WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

“I’m going to say this real quick. I think maybe a lot of people would maybe shy away from it,” he said. “But I’ve been going through some weird stuff. My wife and I are getting a divorce and this is probably the hardest s--t I’ve ever done in my life. To walk on stage every night and try to pretend like everything is awesome when it really ain’t always awesome. But thanks to people like you guys for singing along -- you have no idea how much you guys lift me up every single night."

The heartfelt speech continued, with the "Beachin'" singer expressing his love for Lacey and the couple's 2-year-old daughter.

"I love my wife more than anything in the world and I love my little baby girl Pearl more than anything in the world. If it wasn't for both of them, I wouldn't even be here right now to be a happy man," he said, "But that’s a dance that I’m glad I got to dance, and I’m glad you guys got to sing it with me tonight.”

The couple, who began dating after Lacey starred in the music video for Owen's hit "Barefoot Blue Jean Night," were married for three years. Owen announced his separation from the model on Twitter last week, calling the decision the "the hardest thing I've ever done in my life."
