Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) on Thursday tore into Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) for what he called her “reckless and dangerous” characterization of their shouting match a day earlier on the Capitol steps. (Check out his response below.)

Bowman called out the extremist Republican for referring to his behavior as “aggressive” and her claim she felt “threatened by him” during an argument that began over the indicted lying Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.)

“Unfortunately, this country has a history of characterizing Black men who are outspoken, who stand their ground and who push back as being threatening or intimidating,” Bowman told reporters on Thursday.

“So she’s not even using a dog whistle, she’s using a bullhorn to put a target on my back to the people she refers to as MAGA people out there who might want to cause harm.”

Greene told reporters earlier that Bowman called her a white supremacist during their clash, which she said was a “great offense.”

“That is like calling a person of color the N-word, which should never happen,” she said. “Calling me a white supremacist is equal to that and that is wrong.”

The two lawmakers raged at each other on the Capitol steps after Bowman and other Democrats heckled Santos and demanded he resign. Bowman shouted at Greene to “save the party” and “no more QAnon.” Greene shot back: “Impeach Biden.”

“She ain’t worth it, bro,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told Bowman after words flew.

Bowman said in his response on Thursday that Greene’s characterization of him was “reckless and dangerous.”

“And unfortunately, white supremacists — historically — this is what they do,” he said. “They try to dehumanize Black people, Black skin and the Black humanity so that they can be more likely to be targeted for harm.”
