Twitter Applies Comey's 'Open Setting' Excuse To Everyday Life

During his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, former FBI director James Comey declined to answer several questions, giving the reason that the public hearing was an “open setting.”

For instance, senators received this particular response when Comey was questioned about the dossier compiled by a British spy and whether he believed President Donald Trump colluded with Russia.

And although his refusal to answer these questions is presumably because they touched on classified information, Comey said the phrase so often, it became drinking-game worthy.

The phrase also seems like a great way to excuse yourself from answering something you don’t want to answer.

Twitter ran with this idea and turned the phrase into a really funny meme.
