James Franco might need the help of "Veronica Mars," according to a report on Zap2It.
According to the website, Franco is scripted to appear in the "Veronica Mars" movie as himself. He's the victim of a hidden camera scam where the perpetrator hides cameras in the homes of famous people and tries to sell the resulting footage.
Reps for "Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas wouldn't comment on the casting and a request for comment from Franco's camp was not immediately returned.
If Franco appears in the "Veronica Mars" movie, he'll be one of many famous faces popping up. In addition to series star Kristen Bell and the majority of the "Veronica Mars" Season 3 cast, Justin Long, Martin Starr, Krysten Ritter and Ken Marino will also appear in the film continuation of the cult-hit UPN/CW series.
Brandon Hillock, Deputy Sacks to "Veronica Mars" fans, shared a photo of a call sheet on his Facebook page that has since been deleted. However, the list revealed "Now & Then" star Gaby Hoffmann will appear as Ruby Jetson and veteran actress Helen Slayton-Hughes is also in the movie. "Parks and Rec" viewers will recognize Slayton-Hughes from her role on the NBC comedy as Ethel Beavers.
The "Veronica Mars" film picks up several years after the show went off the air. Look for Ms. Mars to have just finished law school.
"She just got out of Columbia. We learn that not only has she not worked a case since then, she's not seen Logan [Jason Dohring] since then. She's certainly kept up with Wallace [Percy Daggs III] and Mac [Tina Majorino] and she sees her dad [Keith played by Enrico Colantoni] as much as she can, but for the most part, she's put Neptune in the rear view mirror," series creator Thomas told The Huffington Post. "There's something around page 10 of the movie that's going to bring her back to Neptune. It's like a 'Godfather 3' story: No matter how much she thinks she's out, she's going to get pulled back in."
