How sweet it is to be loved by James Taylor.
On February 18, the singer-songwriter and his wife Caroline "Kim" Smedvig celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary. Taylor marked the occasion with a heartfelt Facebook post, along with an assortment of photos from their wedding day.
Superstitious animal that I am, I'm hesitant to claim any sort of victory; as we know, life is best lived one day at a time. But 15 years of happiness together must be a big number. Meeting each other and partnering up with my Caroline marks for me the beginning of my adult life. It's all I ever wanted; the reason for hoisting my flag and putting myself before this world. Our love is where I live and where we raise our boys. I don't really exist apart from us. And I can't believe my luck...
Taylor and Smedvig -- the Grammy winner's third wife -- first met when she was working as the director of PR and marketing for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. They began dating a couple years later in 1995.
In a 2007 interview with CBS "Sunday Morning", the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer opened up about how his relationship with Smedvig has made him a better man.
"I was a mean old man, you know," Taylor said, referencing a line from one of his songs. "And the love that's in my life today has turned me around, it's changing who I am. You can change people. Unconditional love on a daily basis, it can melt a frozen stone. It can do it."
The pair are parents to twin boys Rufus and Henry.
Wishing this couple many more wonderful years together!
