Jamie Lee Curtis has made quite an impression on "NCIS" as Dr. Samantha Ryan. Her guest spots have been so well-received that every time Curtis guests on an episode, the show's already-impressive ratings tend to rise. Curtis stopped by "CBS This Morning" (weekdays, 7 a.m. ET on CBS) to talk about her budding on-screen romance with Mark Harmon's character, Special Agent Gibbs, and admitted that she's interested in joining the show as a series regular.
"If they can figure out the storytelling, which I'm sure Gary [Glasberg] can, I would obviously love to. I've very much enjoyed establishing her life and her role on the show, and now I would love to be able to play a little bit with [Gibbs.]
Curtis explained that portraying her character's relationship with Gibbs has been one of the most rewarding aspects of the "NCIS" experience. "He's a fascinating character ... He's a tough nut to crack. He's like a war photographer ... he's very much in his own world looking and trying to solve the world's problems, but for this woman to be able to get in there a little bit, has been really challenging and fun."
