Jane Lynch Opens Up About Living With Social Anxiety

She's one of the most charismatic people on TV, so you may be surprised to learn Jane Lynch has social anxiety.

The actress, who's continuing her hosting gig on Season 3 of NBC's "Hollywood Game Night," opened up to HuffPost Live's Alyona Minkovski on Tuesday about living with social anxiety -- a diagnosable disorder that affects approximately 15 million American adults -- and how she prefers to blend in at busy gatherings.

"I'm like Jay Gatsby. I like to throw the party and then stand back, looking gorgeous. Stand back and watch it," she said, adding that she really only has two close friends that she's known for more than 20 years.

"I have other friends too, you know, like second- and third- tier -- no offense to those of you in that category," Lynch said. "But I do kind of just hang out with just a couple of people and my dogs."
