Janet Kerrigan: Mark A 'Violent Man' Who 'Punched Me,' 'Choked Me' (VIDEO)

Mark Kerrigan's ex-wife Janet Kerrigan says her former husband is "a very angry man" who becomes violent after drinking. In an interview on the Today show, she described how the brother of former Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan transformed from a "very sweet" man to a violent presence over the course of their relationship.

He once "pushed me to the ground and punched me in the face," she said. "He took me in the bedroom and he choked me. I thought I was going to die." In another incident, "He threw me in the bedroom and he choked me. I thought I was going to die."

Janet Kerrigan previously said that her ex-husband is "capable of killing."

Mark Kerrigan was arrested in January after he allegedly assaulted his father, Daniel Kerrigan. Daniel died shortly thereafter. An autopsy released yesterday classified the death as a homicide and noted that the violent struggle damaged Daniel Kerrigan's windpipe.
