Magnitude 6.1 Earthquake Hits Japan

(Reuters) - A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck 120 miles southeast of Mito off Japan's main Honshu island at 1931 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The quake was very shallow, at a depth of 6.2 miles, the USGS said.
