Jared Fogle On Subway Bread Controversy: 'When It Was Cooked, It Was Fine'

Jared Fogle, the longtime face of Subway, joined HuffPost Live from SXSW and discussed the recent controversy surrounding the restaurant's bread, which was recently revealed to contain the chemical azodicarbonamide, a "bleaching agent" that is also used to make yoga mats and shoe rubber.

"If you delved into it a little bit more and saw what it was, it was nothing. When it's cooked, it was fine," Fogle said.

Fogle, who is in Austin to promote Subway's new Flatizza menu item, added that the sandwich chain has already gotten to work on removing the chemical from its ingredients.
