Jared Leto Wonders If Jennifer Lawrence's Oscars Antics Were 'An Act'

Jared Leto is not completely convinced by Jennifer Lawrence's antics.

On Sunday, March 2, Lawrence fell in her Dior gown while waving to fans on the Oscars red carpet shortly after arriving. Later on, before presenting the Best Actor award, she yelled at someone in the audience from the stage, saying, "Why are you laughing? What? Is this funny?"

Leto explained the moment to "Access Hollywood," revealing that Lawrence was scolding him and his family, who were laughing in their seats.

“She said, ‘What are you laughing at?’ But what she didn’t know was that Ellen was on the side … making, pantomiming [motions like], ‘Don’t fall, don’t fall,’ and my mom and my brother are all cracking up,” he said. “I guess we don’t have any manners. You can take them out of Louisiana but you can’t take Louisiana out of them, right?”

When asked about Lawrence's infamous Oscars fall, Leto said, “You know, I’m starting to wonder if this is a bit of an act."

This was the second time the 23-year-old had a gaffe at the Academy Awards. Last year, she tripped on her voluminous Dior gown while walking up the stairs to accept the award for Best Actress.

Lawrence was the most tweeted-about star during the 2014 Oscars ceremony, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The publication noted a lot of the chatter was about her red carpet tumble.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this post mistakenly said Jennifer Lawrence accepted the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2013. She accepted the award for Best Actress.
