Jason Schwartzman may have accepted the fate of the fictional Jonathan Ames, but that doesn't mean he isn't mourning the loss of Season 4 of "Bored To Death."
The HBO series centered on the life of Jonathan Ames (Schwartzman), a writer who moonlights as an unlicensed private detective with Zach Galifianakis and Ted Danson co-starring. When the series was canceled in late 2011 after ending with a cliffhanger, fans were outraged. Six months later, Schwartzman is taking the early death of his character with a grain of salt.
"I’m down with it, because I feel like that is very true to the show, you know what I mean?” he told The Hollywood Reporter of the show's finale, which ended with Ames finding out he had slept with his half-sister. “That’s true to the themes of the show, just this idea that someone who is trying to do the right thing and doesn’t want to hurt people’s feelings, and then by trying not to hurt the person’s feelings, you sort of do maybe not the correct thing in the moment."
As for the show's fourth season, Schwartzman admitted it was going to be a good one.
"The fourth season, from everything I knew, was the most almost cinematic one, it was the least like a TV show in that really was much more sprawling and intricate,” he said.
