Wizards guard Javaris Crittenton loaded a gun and placed a bullet in the chamber at the team's locker room, according to two witnesses who spoke with the Washington Post's Mike Wise. Arenas reportedly disclosed the information to police and federal prosecutors during a Monday interview.
An earlier gambling dispute had led to a heated exchange, with Arenas saying he would explode Crittenton's vehicle, and Crittenton saying he would shoot Arenas in his knee, which has previously been operated on. Arenas brought four unloaded weapons to the locker room to "make it easier" for Crittenton, but Crittenton tossed a gun aside and said he had his own, at which point he retrieved and loaded a firearm.

Two of the five people in the room that morning, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Arenas had originally not disclosed Crittenton's action to protect the little-used guard from prosecution and had told Crittenton he would assume full responsibility for the actions of both players that day.

Arenas was suspended indefinitely Wednesday, one day after he made shooting gestures at a game in Philadelphia. NBA Commissioner David Stern said the guard "is not currently fit to take the court in an NBA game."
It is possible that a grand jury will become involved, while Arenas has previously described the situation as a "misguided effort to play a joke."
Arenas also recently appeared shirtless in an anti-fur campaign for PETA.
