This Instagram Account Showcases The Hidden Whimsy Of Everyday Junk

Ever looked at a paperclip and seen a trumpet? We hadn't, either -- until we found this Instagram account.

Posting under the Instagram handle "cintascotch," artist Javier Pérez, from Guayaquil, Ecuador, shares delightfully whimsical drawings, often crafted around everyday objects.

"My main inspiration comes from daily objects, the most common appear as the most attractive to me," Pérez told The Huffington Post in an email.

Speaking of his creative process, Pérez said he's keenly aware of his surroundings and the objects he uses. "Usually," he says, "ideas come to me when I am on the bus, walking or running. I archive my ideas in sketches and then I work on them little by little. A lot of the photos I publish are old ideas that I had archived."

"I also look at many images of various artists every day," he added. "Everything inspires me."

Indeed, the world seen through Pérez's eyes is magical place: Staplers resemble scenes from science-fiction movies, scissors can be ballerina legs, and bunches of grapes transform into balloons, capable of launching children into flight.
