Jeanne Cooper of 'The Young And The Restless' Talks Controversial On-Air Facelift (VIDEO)

WATCH: Soap Star Jeanne Cooper: 'I Scared The Hell Out Of Myself'

Actress Jeanne Cooper is no stranger to controversy. Best known as Katherine Chancellor, her character on "The Young and the Restless," the actress made waves in the '80s when she was filmed getting a facelift on the show. Cooper, 83, recently appeared on "The Talk" and co-host Sheryl Underwood wasted no time finding out just whose idea it was to film it.

"Mine," said Cooper. "I walked by a mirror one day and scared the hell out of myself."

Cooper explained the idea to turn her real-life plastic surgery into a storyline for her character on the show. The actress told the ladies on "The Talk" that when the bandages came off, the cameras were still rolling.

"Everything that happened in that storyline was first-hand," she said. "And you saw everything as I saw it."
