Jeffrey Lord Claims Trump Is The Victim Of A ‘High-Tech Lynching’

Trump surrogate sees no wrongdoing in the Comey memo.

Jeffrey Lord, CNN’s in-house surrogate for Donald Trump, appeared on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” on Tuesday evening and described the president as the victim of the scandals embroiling the White House.

“We are once again in high-tech lynching mode here,” Lord said. “These media circuses happen. Clarence Thomas, Bill Clinton, I might add...”

Cooper cut him off.

“But this is not a media circus,” Cooper said, referring to The New York Times report that in February Trump cleared the Oval Office so he could privately ask then-FBI director James Comey to end the agency’s investigation into former National Security Director Michael Flynn.

Lord, however, insisted that Trump made a simple request, not an order.

“That is not Richard Nixon saying to Elliot Richardson, ‘You do this or you’re fired,” Lord said.

“No, this is like saying ‘Nice house you got there. It would be a shame if something happened to it,’” writer Matt Lewis, who was also on the show, said.

In the past, Lord has compared Trump to civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, claimed “there are no people of color” in America and blamed Black Lives Matter for the rise of neo-Nazis. He’s also opposed to the Congressional Black Caucus, comparing it to a hypothetical situation in which former KKK leader David Duke gets into the House and forms a white caucus.
