Jeffrey Sandusky Pleads Guilty To 14 Counts Of Child Sex Abuse Ahead Of Trial

The 41-year-old is the son of Jerry Sandusky, a former Penn State football coach and convicted child molester.

Jeffrey Sandusky, the 41-year-old son of former Penn State assistant football coach and convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky, pleaded guilty Friday to 14 counts of child sexual abuse.

The guilty plea arrived one week before Jeffrey Sandusky’s trial was scheduled to begin in Centre County, Pennsylvania.

Police launched an investigation against Jeffrey Sandusky in November 2016 after a minor claimed that she had received text messages from him asking her for nude photos. The victim’s father saw the text messages and showed them to police. The district attorney’s office said Sandusky had told the victim to erase his text messages and not tell anyone about them.

The child was the daughter of a woman he once dated and whom he’d been living with for five years.

The criminal complaint filed against Jeffrey Sandusky said that he had solicited a second minor for oral sex in 2013.

Sandusky was suspended from his post as a Rockview State Prison corrections officer shortly after he was arrested in February.

Jeffrey Sandusky, the son of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, could face a "significant prison sentence," the district attorney said.

Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller said that the pretrial guilty plea ensures a “significant prison sentence.”

“While we were fully prepared to proceed to trial, today’s guilty plea to all charges ensures a significant prison sentence for defendant’s solicitation of child sex crimes with two minors that once completely trusted him,” Miller told Philadelphia’s CBS 3 Eyewitness News.

“This outcome also ensures the victims need not suffer the trauma and re-victimization of testifying at trial and importantly, the defendant will have to comply with strict sex offender registration requirements for the remainder of his life. We are happy that these girls can move forward and experience a life with adults that deserve their trust,” Miller said.

Jeffrey Sandusky’s father, Jerry Sandusky, was convicted in 2012 of sexually abusing 10 boys over the span of 15 years. The senior Sandusky was found guilty on 45 of 48 total counts of sex abuse and was sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison.
