Jenna Talackova might not have been crowned Miss Universe Canada 2012, but she was the pageant's big winner in the end. The beauty queen made headlines when she was initially disqualified for being transgender, only to push back and compel the Miss Universe Organization to change its rules to allow transgender competitors.
Now, over a year after her big victory, Jenna's finding success in the modeling world. The 25-year-old scored a shoot in the January 2014 issue of Elle Canada, which spotlights the "leggy six-foot-one blonde" as a fashionable beauty (is that Louis Vuitton we spy?) but also an advocate for transgender rights.
And, of course, she's also a rising TV star: Jenna is readying for her new reality TV show, "Brave New Girl," which will follow her as she pursues a modeling career.
It's a pursuit that, judging by these new Elle photos, is already going well. Check out the full story at ElleCanada.com.
