Jenni Rivera Laid To Rest

The "Diva de la Banda" was laid to rest Monday, nearly one month after the Mexican-American singer died in a tragic plane crash that killed all seven passengers.

Jenni Rivera was buried in All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach, California, at a private funeral held by her family, La Opinión reports. She was 43 years old.

Her brother Lupillo Rivera held a beer in his hand and sang at the funeral, as the family said their final goodbye, according to La Opinión.

The burial came after a public celebration on Dec. 19, in which thousands of her fans and admirers celebrated the rising star’s life in Los Angeles. The burial was delayed for legal reasons, according to Mexico's El Nacional.

Rivera’s Learjet 25 nosedived from 28,000 feet while traveling from the northern Mexican city of Monterrey to Toluca during an early morning flight on Dec. 9. Rivera’s remains were delivered to her family in California from Mexico on Dec. 13.
