Jennifer Aniston: 'SNL' Wanted Me, I Chose 'Friends'

Jennifer Aniston: 'SNL' Cast Member?

Live from New York, it's... Jennifer Aniston?

The actress guested on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' on Wednesday with 'Just Go With It' co-star Adam Sandler, and the two relayed a story about how she nearly joined the cast of 'Saturday Night Live'... but took a certain sitcom role instead.

"We wanted Aniston to be on the show with us," Sandler remembered. "I remember being on the ninth floor where [SNL exec] Lorne Michaels' office was, and seeing Jen come in. I was like, 'Oh my God, there's Aniston. Is she about to be on our show?'"

Turns out, she had other plans.

"She said no? She's gonna do that 'Friends'? What the hell is 'Friends?'" Sandler recalled while laughing. "That was the truth."

For her part, Aniston remembered that 'SNL' seemed like a "boys club"... oh, and she ended up becoming world famous on 'Friends.' As Oprah said, seemed like it worked out.

And plus, she's hosted a number of times throughout the past three decades -- so she got her pie and ate it, too.

Aniston is on 'The Ellen Degeneres Show' on Thursday as she continues to promote 'Just Go With It' -- there, she'll talk about taking on blogger Perez Hilton.
