Jennifer Grey Talks The 25th Anniversary Of 'Dirty Dancing' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Jennifer Grey Gets Emotional About 'Dirty Dancing'

This August marks the 25th anniversary of the iconic film "Dirty Dancing." The cult classic starring the late Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey was made for $6 million and grossed $214 million worldwide.

Grey, now 52, was 27 when the film was made. The actress was filled with emotion when she looked back on her iconic role as Frances "Baby" Houseman with CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin. "I feel so different,” Grey said. “I'm such a different person now, as it happens with Baby in the movie. And I think that's why people respond so strongly to it."

When CNN pulled a clip Grey had never seen before from the 1987 premiere of "Dirty Dancing," the actress was moved to tears. Grey opened up about a car crash she was involved in, which killed a mother and daughter just six days prior to the premiere, and how it changed her life.

During the interview Grey also revealed why she was reluctant to join "Dancing With The Stars" for nine seasons. When she finally took the leap, and won the show in 2010, she had her "Dirty Dancing" co-star and friend Patrick Swayze's passing in mind. "I realized when he left -- and I had just gotten thyroid cancer myself -- I thought, 'What are we doing here?'" Grey said. "'Why are we letting fear dictate what we do and don't do? If I love to dance, why would I stop dancing because I was in a movie about that?'"
