Jennifer Lawrence isn't surprised that her "Silver Linings Playbook" co-stars received Oscar nominations. In her opinion (and the Academy's), the honors were very much "deserved."

Lawrence spoke about the Oscar nods while on the red carpet at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards, just hours after the Academy Awards nominees were announced.

The "Hunger Games" star revealed that her parents came into her bedroom while she was sleeping to tell her the good news. "I obviously can believe it, because I believed with all my heart that they deserved it, but it was just absolutely amazing to hear that [and] to be able to share this with everybody," she told MTV News.

"Silver Linings Playbook," about a man trying to recompile his life after returning from a stint at a mental institution, is nominated for a whopping eight Oscars this year, including Best Picture. Bradley Cooper scored a nomination for Best Actor, Lawrence for Best Actress and Robert DeNiro for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

“When you’re hoping for something and you’re praying and we’re all getting so excited and then it’s even better than you imagined. It’s unbelievable," Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly on Thursday. "[The whole cast have] been texting. I just sent them a picture of Obama on a unicorn with a rainbow saying ‘Congratulations.’”

This is Lawrence's second Oscar nomination. The 22-year-old was previously nominated for her work in 2010's "Winter's Bone."

“They got to my name, and my mom said, ‘Bradley?’ Because I wasn’t reacting at all," he told The New York Times' Carpetbagger blog. He channeled his excitement into a rigorous spin class at SoulCycle. When asked by the Times how it feels to be nominated, Cooper replied, "It feels wonderful. If I’m ever tired of that question, please escort me out of the room.”
