Jeremy Lin Airball: Rockets Guard Misfires On Game-Winner Against Heat (VIDEO)

Lin Airballs Game-Winner

It's said that everything is bigger in Texas. Apparently, Linsanity is an exception to the rule.

After his first seven games with the Houston Rockets, Jeremy Lin has yet to recreate the hysteria of his breakout season in New York. Despite putting up decent stats, he's been overshadowed by James Harden. But Lin had a chance to jump back into the national spotlight on Monday against Miami. He just came up a little short.

With Houston trailing Miami 111-110 with 15 seconds remaining in the regulation, Harden delivered a pass to Chandler Parsons in the corner. He then swung the ball to a wide open Lin on the wing. The crisp ball movement left Ray Allen out of position as Lin got a clear look at the go-ahead 3-pointer.

Airball.

"That didn't touch anything," the CSN Houston announcer said.

The ball fell a few feet short of the rim right into the hands of Dwyane Wade.

“It didn’t come off right. It didn’t feel good. Obviously, it’s my responsibility to hit that shot," Lin said, via Rockets beat writer Jonathan Feigen. "It was a good shot for me, a quality shot, and it didn’t go in for me unfortunately in a crucial play of the game."

We can only imagine the Twitter explosion that might have occurred if Lin had made the game-winner. Instead, NBA fans were left marveling at LeBron James' stat line in Miami's 113-110 win and shooting down any chance of Linsanity emerging in Houston.
