Jerry Moran, GOP Senator, Flubs Immigration Vote, Accidentally Votes 'Aye' (VIDEO)

WATCH: GOP Senator Flubs Major Vote

As the Senate voted on the comprehensive immigration reform bill Thursday, one Republican senator opposed to the bill accidentally voted for the historic legislation.

"Aye," Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) said during the roll call vote before quickly correcting himself. "I'm sorry. I meant 'No.'"

The Senate broke out in laughter over the error.

Watch a clip of Moran's vote above.

The bill, which would create a pathway to citizenship for some of the approximately 11 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the United States, later passed by a 68 to 32 vote. All Democratic senators and 14 Republicans voted for the measure.

The Huffington Post's Elise Foley reports:

Although sponsors didn't get to the 70 votes they hoped for, the full support from Democrats and addition of Republican votes was significant. McCain, Rubio, Flake and Graham were joined in voting "yes" by Republican Sens. Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Jeff Chiesa (N.J.), Susan Collins (Maine), Bob Corker (Tenn.), Orrin Hatch (Utah), Dean Heller (Nev.), John Hoeven (N.D.), Mark Kirk (Ill.), and Lisa Murkowski (Alaska).

The bill doesn't please everyone, but its passage is a victory for those who have been working on the issue for years and watched immigration reform fail six years ago. It addresses undocumented immigrants, legal immigration, border security, employer hiring and an entry-exit system so the government knows if foreign nationals leave the country when their visa expires.
