'Jersey Shore' Cast Escapes Storm, Takes Private Jet To VMAs

MTV wasn't leaving anything up to chance when it came to getting the stars of its hit show, 'The Jersey Shore,' out to LA this weekend for the Video Music Awards.

As the East Coast braced for Hurricane Irene and airlines began preemptively cancelling flights, the reality stars jetted out of the New York area in a private jet courtesy of MTV.

"I was nervous. This storm's no joke," Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio told MTV News.

So fear not, 'Jersey Shore' fans, the cast made it to LA and will attend tonight's VMAs.

But New Jersey's coastline took a beating this weekend thanks to the storm, and there's no word about the condition of the cast's now-infamous Seaside Heights house.

"I hope our shore house doesn't blow away," Snooki tweeted Friday.

Don't miss the VMAs tonight on MTV at 9 p.m.
