This Is How The Unrest In Jerusalem Has Unfolded In Recent Weeks

On the night of October 29, a 32-year-old Palestinian opened fire at a meeting of right-wing Israeli activists in Jerusalem. Moataz Hejaz fled the scene after shooting Israeli-American Yehuda Glick multiple times, but was later shot and killed by Israeli security forces.

Glick survived. However, the assassination attempt and the events in its aftermath amplified longstanding tensions between Israelis and Palestinians in Jerusalem. Since the attack, the city has witnessed riots, killings and crackdowns.

"We are in a new situation and it appears that even after things calm down, we will never go back to the status quo ante," Israeli lawyer Daniel Seidemann told The WorldPost last week.

Take a look at the timeline below to review the major events that have put Israel on edge in recent weeks.
