Jesse James and Kat Von D have called it quits.
The pair, who began dating shortly after James' divorce from Sandra Bullock was final, have called off their engagement and gone their separate ways.
Von D announced via her Twitter account that the two are no longer together, saying, "I am no longer w Jesse, and out of respect for him, his family and myself, thats all the info I'd like to share. Thanks for respecting that."
James however, was willing to share a bit more. America's bad boy spoke to PEOPLE and said, "I'm so sad because I really love her," and revealed that distance was the reason it was not working out.
James and Von D had all eyes on them as they first came out as a couple in September of last year. He was stepping back into the spotlight after his marriage to Bullock unraveled in the public eye, following the news that he cheated on Bullock with Michelle "Bombshell" McGee.
After the announcement that James and Von D were engaged, McGee even went as far to publicly warn Von D that James would not be the man he promised, saying "He doesn't have a faithful bone in his body!"
There have been no accusations of infidelity, but the pair haven't pretended it's been an easy road. In a promo for Von D's reality series "L.A. Ink" she admits their relationship has been hard. Earlier this month they were squashing rumors that their wedding was off. Von D even went as far as saying their split was "... the furthest thing from the truth."
