Jesse Metcalfe: Beautiful Women Without Brains Don't 'Keep My Attention'

Jesse Metcalfe has had no shortage of stunning girlfriends (see: current love Cara Santana, and exes Courtney Robertson of "The Bachelor" and Nadine Coyle of "Girls Aloud"). But according to the "Dallas" heartthrob, looks alone aren't enough to win his heart.

The "Desperate Housewives" hottie admitted in a HuffPost Live interview Wednesday that he, like "most people," is "drawn to someone because of the way they look," but said a lady's gotta have intelligence if he's going to be in it for the long haul.

"As far as being in a relationship with somebody, I've dated in the past some very beautiful women that weren't so smart, and it didn't really keep my attention," he told host Caitlyn Becker. "So I really look for the total package."

He cited his current girlfriend, actress Cara Santana of "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" fame, as fitting the bill.

"[She] is just one of the most caring and generous people I've ever met, and she's incredibly intelligent," he said. "She keeps our lives and my life in order. I'd be lost without her, I really would."

And while he claimed to have "no comment" regarding Courtney Robertson and her memoir's assertions that he was a love of her life but disloyal, he did offer one sentiment:

"I don't want to help her writing career more than I already have," he said.
