Jessica Lange Sings 'The Name Game': 'American Horror Story: Asylum' Goes Musical

WATCH: Jessica Lange Does 'The Name Game'

Lange told The Huffington Post a song and dance number was something she'd been asking for.

"All along, I said, 'Give me something where I can sing or I can dance,'" Lange said. "One day, I got the lyrics and music to this song and I couldn't figure out what it was. [Laughs.] But it is actually quite startling when it happens. It was one of my favorite moments so far."

Murphy told EW that he wasn't thinking about "Glee" when they did "The Name Game." "The fun of it, I think, is that you’re in Sister Jude’s shock therapy-induced fantasy. The idea was to really do a musical number that was something very ‘60s crossed with Jacob’s Ladder because it was in her head and it was sort of the beginning of her descent. It was very fun to do. We spent almost a whole day doing it."

Watch Lange and the cast of "American Horror Story: Asylum" perform "The Name Game" below.
