It appears Jill Scott is back to living her life like it’s “ Golden” as she married fiancé Mike Dobson during a private wedding ceremony on Saturday.
Though the blissful twosome have remained mum on details surrounding their nuptials, Dobson’s longtime friend and wedding DJ, DJ Mars detailed the event in a string of (which are now unavailable) Instagram posts, where he shared how Dobson requested his musical services a year ago.
"So my man called me a year ago and said, 'Mars I need you to DJ my wedding... don't get booked on June 25th 2016!'" Mars wrote in one post. "He came to my house and gave me the deposit early, but he didn't say he was marrying Jill Scott!!!!! Damn homie!!!!!!!!!!"
Mars went on to provide details on assisting Dobson to organize a surprise performance from hip-hop legend Big Daddy Kane for the wedding’s reception.
"Mike Dobson called me and said, 'I'm going to surprise my wife during the reception and have Big Daddy Kane perform,'" Mars wrote in another post. "He then says, 'Mars you call Kane to work it out.' So I’m gassed because I'm on the phone strategizing with arguably one of the best rappers period… No one knew but me and the husband knew he was about to perform. Dude walks in and they didn't even recognize him until he starts rapping. Her face is soooo priceless!”

The nuptials follows Scott’s first marriage in 2001 to Lyzel Williams, which ended in divorce in 2007. She was later engaged to drummer Li'l John Roberts, who is the father of her 7-year-old son.
