Jill Zarin On 'Iron Chef': Former 'Housewife' Judges Geoffrey Zakarian (VIDEO)

Jill Zarin, 'Iron Chef' Judge?

Former "Real Housewife of New York City" Jill Zarin has plenty of experience doling out criticism and being difficult to please. Since being let go from the Bravo reality juggernaut in September, Zarin has re-focused her feisty-ness onto several other reality projects, and her latest was a guest-judging stint on "Iron Chef America" (Sundays, 9PM EST on FOOD). And while Zarin was trying to open a new chapter in her reality TV career, she couldn't help but needle her former "Housewives" colleagues, bragging that she was the best cook of all of them. "I'm a very good cook, if I don't say so myself, but I wouldn't call myself a chef though," she said.

The theme ingredient of the competition, which featured newly crowned "Next Iron Chef" champion Geoffrey Zakarian in his first showdown since winning the prestigious title, was Trout. Although Zarin started off her judging stint with the curious culinary admission that she had never eaten sushi, one of Chef Zakarian's dishes won her over. "You know, I'm sometimes afraid to try things, but this is delicious and I think you've just opened up a new food for me ... we're going out for sushi later," she joked. She had harsher words for his Trout Flan and Trout Ravioli, though. Even after the criticism, Zarin labeled the meal "perfection," a far higher compliment than she ever paid to her fellow "Housewives."
