Jim Carrey Home In Malibu Colony House Listed At $13,950,000 (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Is Jim Carrey Dumb Or Dumber?

Some may be calling actor-comedian Jim Carrey "Dumb and Dumber" for listing his place in gated Malibu Colony at a whopping $13.95 million. He picked up the oceanfront home in 2002 for $9.75 million, which some market followers say is where Malibu home prices are today.

But those market followers don't understand the other-worldliness of Malibu Colony, where guards make visitors open their trunks to inspect for contraband like cameras. Colony folks are a private lot and any homeowner who inadvertently lets in a papparazi will have some explaining to do.

Carrey has other homes and isn't a frequent face around Malibu. But if you're hoping to see the comedic actor best known for his facial expressions, stay tuned for when he reprises his role as Lloyd Christmas in a sequel to "Dumb and Dumber." His many movies also include starring roles in "The Truman Show" (1998), "Bruce Almighty" (2003) and "Mr. Popper's Penguins" (2011).

According to our friends at Trulia, the five-bedroom, 5.5 bathroom contemporary beach house has a spectacular upstairs oceanfront master suite that features a fireplace, balcony, uber-bathroom and a generous walk-in closet.

The 2,866-square-foot home has a large rooftop viewing deck with spa tub and mood lights, and features an open plan living room, with the family room, dining room and kitchen leading to an ocean-facing deck.

Carrey has been in the news lately defending against Playboy model/actress Jenny McCarthy’s allegations to Howard Stern that the actor essentially turned his back on her autistic 10-year-old son, Evan, after their split.

“I will always do what I believe is in the best interest of Evan’s well-being,” Carrey said in a statement to New York's Daily News. “It’s unfortunate that Evan’s privacy is not being considered."

Janelle Friedman of Sotheby's International Realty in Pacific Palisades is the listing agent.
