Jim Wiatt, Chief Executive Of William Morris, Criticized In New Book

On Tuesday Ballantine Books is to publish "Promises I Made My Mother," written by Sam Haskell, with David Rensin.

Mr. Haskell -- who is represented by the Endeavor agents Nancy Josephson and Richard Abate -- was a vice chairman at William Morris, in charge of its television operations and a force behind shows like "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," until December 2004. That month he and two fellow board members, the chief operating officer Steve Kram and the music agent Richard Rosenberg, resigned after a series of run-ins with Mr. Wiatt.

Mr. Haskell has not publicly described the conflicts -- until now.
