Jimmie Walker Never Watched 'Good Times'

Jimmie Walker starred as J. J. Evans in the iconic 1970s sitcom "Good Times," and is perhaps best remembered for his catchphrase, "Dy-no-mite!" Walker stopped by "Today" Tuesday to talk about his new book "Dyn-o-mite, Good Times, Bad Times, Our Times, a Memoir" and revealed that he never watched a single episode of his own hit show.

"Never, because I was always busy doing other stuff," the actor and stand-up comedian told Matt Lauer.

Still, Walker looks back at his time on "Good Times" with fondness. He said it doesn't bother him when fans see him out in public and yell, "Dyn-o-mite!" because it reminds him of a positive time in his life. But he won't break out the catchphrase himself. In a 2011 interview on "The View," Walker joked he'd retired the catchphrase to the Smithsonian.
