UPDATE: Jimmy Fallon reportedly made a quick trip to Massachusetts General Hospital after falling during the ceremony. According to E!, onlookers reported he tripped over a young woman who was kneeling, but when he got up, "He said he was fine." Fallon showed up at the evening festivities with a bandage around his hand.
PREVIOUSLY: He came, he saw, he conquered. Comedy, that is.
"SNL" alum, late-night host and connoisseur of jokes your dad likes Jimmy Fallon was awarded the Elmer Award for Excellence in Humor. The Harvard Lampoon crowned Fallon the "Emperor of Comedy," presenting him with a check for 85 cents and a diploma that read "James (Jimmy) Kimmel" (yep, Kimmel), according to the Harvard Crimson. Don't spend it all in one place, Jimmy!
When Fallon shared the news on Instagram, he wrote, "Please don't tell them, but I'm actually honored."
According to the event's Facebook page posted by the Lampoon, this is just the seventh time the Elmer Award was given out and just the first in this century. Past recipients include Jay Leno and Robin Williams.
For the ceremony, Fallon was paraded through Harvard Square on a Roman chariot, naturally. Looks like he had the appropriate headgear, at least.
The comedian later showed off his medal.
Pretty swaggy, Fallon.
