RuPaul's Life In 1980s New York Is Set To Become A JJ Abrams TV Series

There seems to be no stopping RuPaul!

The host of wildly successful reality show “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and longtime cultural icon is now set to have a TV series made about his life. Deadline reports that JJ Abram’s Bad Robot is working with Ru and queer production company World of Wonder to produce a half-hour series centered around the life of the star and set in 1980s New York City.

Ru has a long-standing relationship with World of Wonder, with the company producing “Drag Race” and having worked with the star dating back to the the 1990s.

“RuPaul’s life and journey has always been made for TV and this makes
it official,” World of Wonder producers Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey told The Huffington Post.

The news comes just days before the premiere of the ninth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and less than a year after Ru’s first Emmy win.
