Joan Collins Furious With Shirley Jones For Claiming She Was Into Swinging (REPORT) (UPDATE)

UPDATE: A rep for Joan Collins tells The Huffington Post exclusively:

"Joan Collins recently contacted Simon & Schuster to alert them that an error in facts was made in the publication of Shirley Jones' new autobiography whereby it claimed Shirley and her then husband, Jack Cassidy, were asked by Anthony Newley and his wife at the alleged time, Joan Collins, to get naked and watch pornography following a dinner party. Both Shirley Jones and Simon & Schuster have agreed to correct the story and Joan's name shall be removed immediately from eBook versions of the memoir and in future reprints of the bound book. Similarly, other major news outlets have agreed to remove or retract the story.

Miss Collins wishes Shirley Jones success in the publication of her book and stated "We all make mistakes. I've made a few myself, but not with Mrs. Jones. I'm a serial monogamist."

PREVIOUSLY: Tinseltown icon Joan Collins is reportedly furious with Shirley Jones over claims made about the actress in the former "Partridge Family" star's new book.

TMZ reports that the "Dynasty" star sent a cease-and-desist letter demanding that Jones' book, "Shirley Jones: A Memoir," be removed from stores.

Sources told the website that Collins, 80, is "livid" with Jones for including an anecdote about the first time Jones met Collins back in the late 1960s.

Jones writes that she and then-husband Jack Cassidy went to Collins and her then-husband Tony Newley's home for dinner, and Newley suggested they all get naked and watch porn together. "It was clear what Tony was leading up to -- swinging," Jones writes in her memoir.

Jones claims she turned down the offer, but sources tell TMZ that Collins insists it never happened, and has accused Jones of libel.

Of course, it's a memoir, after all, and Jones didn't just spill the dirt on others, revealing that she and Cassidy had a threesome with a dancer she refers to as Jean -- though she claimed it wasn't her thing:

"If Jack hadn’t fully come to terms with my sexual boundaries before, after that night in Las Vegas with Jean, he now understood conclusively that threesomes were just not my thing. From then on, I assumed that he went his own way, sexually speaking, and, I guess, had threesomes with other women instead. I was still madly in love with him, and my awareness of his many infidelities, in whatever permutations he chose, didn’t tarnish my love for him. Nor did our threesome with Jean."

Reps for Jones told The Huffington Post they are not commenting on the matter.

A rep for Collins told The Huffington Post that Jones' publisher, Gallery Books -- a division of Simon & Schuster, has "agreed an error was made and they will be correcting it as quickly as possible."
